Can a Person Print Off All of Their Friends on Facebook?
By Laurel Storm
Because Facebook is designed mainly as an online application, it offers no print-friendly link for pages such as your friends list. The .zip file created by Facebook's "Download Your Information" feature includes a text-only list of your friends' names; the downside is that the more active you are on Facebook, the larger the file will be and the more time it will take for Facebook to generate it. Furthermore, the file will only include the email address of friends who have specifically chosen to allow its inclusion. Alternatively, you can also import your Facebook friends to a Yahoo account and print them from there. If you choose this route, all email addresses will be included.
Log in to Facebook and navigate to your account settings page.
Select "General" and click "Download a Copy."
Click "Start My Archive." The process will take some time to complete; once Facebook has generated the file, you will receive an email.
Click the link in the email you received from Facebook, re-enter your password if prompted and click "Download Archive." Save the .zip file to your hard drive or a flash drive.
Extract the .zip file's contents to a location of your choice. Doing this creates a new directory with a name matching your Facebook name, containing several files and sub-directories.
Open the "html" subdirectory and double click the "friends.html" file to open it in your browser. This file is a list of your Facebook friends.
Print the file.
Create a new Yahoo Mail account. Because this process relies on importing your Facebook friends as contacts, you should do this even if you already have an email account with Yahoo to prevent your Facebook friends from getting mixed in with your preexisting contacts.
Click "Contacts," select "Tools" and click "Import."
Click "Facebook." Log in to your Facebook account if prompted and confim you want to share your contacts with Yahoo. Wait for the process to complete and click "Done."
Click "Tools" and select "Print."
Select "Basic View" and click "Display for Printing" to open a new page listing the name and email address of all your Facebook friends.
Print the page.
