How Can I Open a 4DV File?
By Joe Lewis
Files with the 4DV extension are ultrasound image files created by the Voluson ultrasound machine. GE Healthcare, the manufacturer of the Voluson machine, offers a free application, titled 4DView that can be used to open and view these files. This application can be downloaded from the VolusonClub website and installed on Windows-based computers.
Open your web browser and navigate to the VolusonClub website. (See Resources.)
Click the "Download 4DViewSetup.exe" link to download the software that will install 4DView on your computer. Be sure to remember where you saved this file.
Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder where you saved the installation file. Double-click the file to run the program.
Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software. Be sure to choose the "Free de-featured version" if you simply want to view the 4DV files.
Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder containing the 4DV file you wish to view. Double-click the file to open it with the 4DView application.
