Can I Find out if Someone Has Read My Facebook Messages?
By Joshua Phillips
Facebook enables users to get in touch with each other through a variety of methods, including sending messages to one another directly. Depending on the message's importance, knowing when the recipient has read the message could be an invaluable feature. Facebook offers a read receipt for the most recent message you've sent to another user, recording both the date and time that user read the message. You can check to see if a user has read a message using the same method regardless of whether you're using a Timeline or a page.
Sign in to your Facebook Timeline or page and click the "Messages" icon in the upper left corner of the Facebook website.
Click "See All" at the bottom of the Messages window.
Select the message recipient from the contacts list on the left side of the screen. This list includes every Facebook user you have sent a message to.
Scroll to the bottom of the message list, as Facebook displays messages from oldest to newest. If the recipient has read your message, at the bottom of your most recently sent message the phrase "Seen" appears with a time and a date after it. This indicates that the recipient read your message but has not yet replied.
Tips
The read receipt only covers the most recent message you send, and when the recipient responds to that message, you can no longer access the time or date he or she read your previous message.
