How to Get Caller ID on the TV With Dish Network (5 Steps)
By Mandy Slake
Your Dish Network receiver can tell you whether a call is worth answering or not -- without even looking at the phone. When a call comes in, the receiver will flash the caller's name and phone number on the screen. To receive caller ID, you need to subscribe to the caller ID service from your home phone company and enable the feature through the receiver's menu.
Step 1
Plug the phone cable into the jack on the back of the Dish Network receiver. Plug the other end into a phone jack on the wall.
Step 2
Press the "MENU" button on the Dish Network remote to open the main menu.
Step 3
Open the "System Setup" menu and select "Installation."
Step 4
Choose "Caller ID" and set it to "Enable Caller ID."
Step 5
Press "Done" to save the settings.
Tips
- If you don't have a telephone jack near your receiver, you can use a power line connector or Phonex connector. These connectors use the wiring in your house to transmit the signal. You can purchase them through the Dish Network website.
