How to Burn a DVD on an HP Pavilion (5 Steps)
By Teresa Starr
The Windows operating system--Windows XP and higher
--comes with a free software program called Windows Media Center. All HP computers run Windows, so you can easily use Windows Media Center to burn CDs or DVDs to back up media files such as music, pictures and videos. The program is easy to use as well, so you don't need to be a computer whiz to quickly learn how to burn DVDs in just a few steps.
Step 1
Launch Windows Media Center by clicking on "File" and then "Windows Media Center." Insert a blank writable DVD.
Step 2
Click the "Burn CD or DVD" notification. Once the "Select Disk Format" screen pops up, click on "Data DVD" and then "Next."
Step 3
Type a name for your DVD and click "Next." The "Select Media" screen will pop up and here you will need to choose the files that you want to burn onto the DVD. Choose the files and then click "Next."
Step 4
Click "Burn DVD" on the "Review and Edit List" screen that pops up. Click "Yes" to initialize the copy.
