Acer computers have a special, hidden partition built in to them called the Recovery Partition (also known as the Restore Partition). This partition is used to restore the operating system of the computer back to its default factory state. If a computer becomes infected with a virus or is experiencing other software-related problems, this type of restore is ideal because you don't have to deal with juggling installation discs or knowing what information to enter to perform the reinstallation manually.

Step 1

Turn off the Acer computer.

Step 2

Press the power button on the computer to turn it back on.

Step 3

Immediately press the "ALT" and "F10" keys simultaneously once the Acer boot screen flashes on the screen.

Step 4

Type "000000," then press "Enter" to access the recovery partition.
