How to Boost the Signal of the NETGEAR 3700by Ruri Ranbe
The NETGEAR 3700, or NETGEAR WNDR3700, operates on both the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz frequencies, enabling the router to output a strong signal strength to computers and other network-capable devices in the area. Other devices close by, however, like cellphones and microwaves, can interfere with the signal strength if the router functions on the same channel. Changing the channel on which the router broadcasts its signal can boost the signal strength of the NETGEAR 3700. Confirming that the NETGEAR WNDR3700 is functioning in the correct mode will also ensure that the router outputs the best signal possible.
Open a Web browser and input "192.168.1.1" into the address bar (without the quotes). Press "Enter" to go to the NETGEAR setup page. Enter your login credentials, or use "admin" as the user name and "password" as the password if you've never logged into the router page before.
Go to Wireless Settings, then select channels 1, 6 and 11, testing the signal strength after each. Click "Apply" after selecting a new channel.
Select Up to 300Mbps from the Mode drop-down menu for the 5GHz frequency. Select Up to 130Mbps for the 2.4GHz frequency. Click "Apply" to boost the signal on the NETGEAR 3700.
