How to Block Calls on Sony Ericsson Phones
By Thomas McNish
It's not uncommon to receive unwanted calls on your mobile phone. If you are receiving threatening or harassing calls, you should contact local law enforcement; but if the calls you want to block are simply nuisance calls from telemarketers or acquaintances that you'd rather avoid, you can easily block them on your Sony Ericsson phone. This phone has a setting that allows you to accept calls only from specific numbers, thus blocking unwanted callers.
Navigate to your phone's home screen and select the "Menu" option.
Navigate to the "Settings" option and then open it.
Navigate to the "Calls" section. Select "Manage Calls" followed by "Accept Calls."
Select the "Only from list" sub-option.
Create a list of contacts from whom you wish to accept phone calls either by using your phone book or manually entering phone numbers. All other phone numbers will be blocked.
- The major disadvantage of blocking calls in this way is that only people who are on your list can call you. If you make a new contact with someone, be sure to add that person to your list so you can receive his calls.
- If your Sony Ericsson phone does not have the call blocking option described here, speak with your service provider about blocking certain numbers. AT&T, for instance, will allow you to block a certain number of calls for a nominal monthly fee.
