How to Get AppTapp on an iPhoneby Adele Eliot
AppTapp is a piece of firmware that allows you to run third-party applications on your iPhone. It is similar to Installer.app but enables you to access many applications not currently available through the Apple app store without hacking your handset. The firmware is free and you don't have to have a jailbroken iPhone to use it. You also won't need to know any software commands to run AppTapp, however you will need an Apple computer to download the software.
Connect your iPhone to your computer using the dock or cable and wait for iTunes to open. In the iTunes window, look under "Devices" in the left-hand bar and then select your iPhone.
Un-check the box labelled "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" so this feature is turned off. Close iTunes, ensuring that the software has completely shut down and isn't running in the background on your desktop.
Unplug your iPhone and then plug it in again, checking the iTunes doesn't start when you do so.
Download the AppTapp firmware from iPhone.dashhacks.com/downloads/apptapp-gui-installer-v31 and run it, following the on-screen instructions. The firmware will start running on your iPhone.
Download the Installer.app software by clicking the "Update" tab on your iPhone's screen. Once this has installed, you will have access to the extra applications available through this firmware.
