When you initially got your iPad, you probably never imagined that you'd build up those pages and pages of apps so quickly. All of those app icons can become disorganized and confusing when they are not in any particular type of order. However, you can easily alphabetize your iPad apps with some changes in the Settings menu, and then move default apps physically.

Step 1

Touch the "Settings" icon from your iPad's home screen.

Step 2

Touch "General," then scroll down to the last option, "Reset."

Step 3

Tap "Reset," followed by "Reset Home Screen Layout." All of the apps that you have added to your iPad since its purchase will now appear in alphabetical order following the iPad's 11 default apps.

Step 4

Touch the first of the 11 iPad default apps, holding your finger down until all apps begin to shake.

Step 5

Move your finger, with the app underneath it, to its proper place in alphabetical order within all the apps, then release when the app is properly placed.

Step 6

Place your finger on the next app in the list of default apps, repeating the alphabetical re-ordering process until each of the 11 default apps has been properly placed.

Step 7

Press the "Home" button after all of the 11 default apps are re-ordered alphabetically. All app icons will stop shaking, signifying that their order is now changed.
