Promoting your small business through your Facebook account is an ideal way to drum up publicity. However, people who know you only by your nickname won't be able to locate you on Facebook unless you add your nickname to your account. After associating a nickname with your Facebook account and making it public, that nickname will appear next to your real name in your profile and when people search for you on Facebook.

Click the down-pointing arrow to the right of Home on your Facebook menu bar to open a drop-down menu. Click "Account Settings" to open the General Account Settings screen.

Click the "Edit" link associated with the Name field.

Enter your nickname in the Alternate Name field and then click to place a check mark in the "Include this on my profile" check box.

Enter the password associated with your Facebook account in the Password field and click "Save Changes." The nickname now appears on both your Facebook Timeline and homepage.
