Adding a College Major to My Facebook Profile
By Aaron Wein
Facebook originally began as a way to connect with college classmates. The social networking giant still provides that ability, although it's not the website's main purpose anymore. For instance, you can add the name of your college to your basic profile information then add your fields of study. Once you've added any of your majors, your friends can view that information, and others can search for you based on that data, depending on your privacy settings.
Step 1
Log in to Facebook and select your name to view your profile page.
Step 2
Select "Update Info."
Step 3
Select "Add a School," type the name of your college into the text field and select its name from the drop-down list.
Step 4
Select the "Add Year" fields to choose your start and end dates.
Step 5
Place a check next to "Graduated" if you have graduated.
Step 6
Type your major in the "Concentrations" field and select its name from the drop-down menu.
Step 7
Select "College" or "Graduate School."
Step 8
Select "Add School."
