Adding Amazon Banners to Blogspot
By Jacob Michael
Whether you run a company blog or are interested in monetizing your website, Amazon affiliate banners can be a great addition to your site, especially if you post often about products that Amazon sells. When readers click on your banner and subsequently purchase something from the Amazon site, you’ll earn a commission – potential extra passive earnings with just a little addition to your Blogspot blog (now know as Blogger). Generate the Amazon banner code and add it to your blog using the HTML/JavaScript layout gadget.
Generate Amazon Banner HTML Code
Open the Amazon Associates website and log in to your affiliate account.
Click “Banner Links.”
Select a banner product type. You can select specific product categories or select the “Easy Links” option to display current Amazon promotions and sales. You can also select “Gift Cards” to display banner advertisements for Amazon gift cards.
Select the banner type you want to use in your blog. A variety of shapes and sizes are available to best fit your website’s needs.
Click the “Highlight HTML” button underneath the banner you want to use and copy the HTML code into your clipboard.
Add Banner Code to your Blogspot Site
Open your Blogger website and log in to your dashboard.
Click the blog you want to edit.
Click “Layout.”
Click the “Add a Gadget” link in the panel of your blog layout where you want to display a banner.
Select “HTML/JavaScript.”
Enter a title for the banner widget in the “Title” input box. This title will not appear on the website -- it serves as an easy way to organize layout gadgets.
Paste the banner code into the “Content” box.
Click the “Save” button.
Click the “Preview” button to see your banner in action. If you’re satisfied with the banner style and placement, close the preview window and click the “Save Arrangement” button.
