How to Add a Wink Smiley to a Facebook Comment
By Ryan Menezes
Facebook doesn't include a menu for adding smileys to comments, but you can add them to comments manually using keystrokes. The site inserts the wink smiley whenever a comment contains the appropriate text characters. Facebook now converts all compatible text emoticons into images, so if you browse posts from years ago, you may see new smileys in your old statuses and comments. As of April 2013, Facebook is also gradually expanding its emoticon system to add smileys and other symbols from a status drop-down box.
Sign in to your Facebook account and navigate to the post on which you want to comment.
Type your comment, including the following text:
Click "Post" to add your comment, converting the text emoticon to a wink smiley.
- If Facebook converts text that you did not intend to appear as a smiley, click "Edit" to revise your comment.
