How to Add GIFs in Gmail

Graphics Interchange Format is a digital image format. Using your web-based Gmail account, you can attach GIF images from your computer to email messages. Sending email messages with a GIF file attachment allows you to transfer digital images using a universally recognized format that the recipient of the email message can open using a variety of software applications across computer formats.


Navigate to in your Web browser. Enter your username and password and click the "Sign In" button.


Click the "Compose Mail" button to create a new email message.


Click the "Attach a file" link.


Select the GIF file that you would like to add to your Gmail message.


Click the "Open" button to attach the GIF file to the Gmail message.
