How to Add an Event Calendar to a Website

By Faizah Imani

An event calendar is a great tool to add to your website. It keeps people up to date with the latest happenings with you, your company or your organization. No knowledge of coding is necessarily needed to add the calendar to your website. In many cases, the code you need is automatically generated for you. You just have to know where to go to get the code.

Visit a website, such as LoCalendar.com, Calendars.net, Calendar.Google.com or Bravenet.com, that will allow you access to free calendars that can be placed on your website. Many of the sites will offer free calendars, while other sites, such as CoffeeCup and Calendar Wiz, will charge you a fee.

Sign up for an account on the website of your choice. In most cases, an account is required in order to utilize the site's calendar services.

Log into your account and begin creating your calendar. Enter the dates and times for your events. In some cases, you will also be able to customize the calendar's colors and fonts. Save the calendar once you have finished creating it.

Copy the HTML code for the event calendar. This code will be provided once your calendar has been created.

Log into your website's HTML editor. Click on the page you would like to place the calendar.

Paste the HTML code for the calendar onto the web page. "Save" and "Publish" the changes to your page. Your calendar will now be viewable to the people who visit your website.
