How to Activate a Net10 Cell Phone
By Palmer Owyoung
Net10 is a prepaid cell phone service that allows you to place calls for only 10 cents a minute. It's advantageous for anybody who wants the ease and convenience of having a cell phone but doesn't want to have a monthly bill. If you've recently purchased a Net10 cell phone but don't know how to activate it, don't worry. You can have it switched on in less than 10 minutes.
Turn on the phone and select "Menu" and "Prepaid." Scroll down and choose "My IMEI" (this stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity). Write this number down and hit "Back." Scroll down and select "SIM Serial Number," and write this number down. (SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module.)
Go to Net10.com on your computer and click on "Activate/Reactivate Phone" in the top left side of the menu. If this is your first time activating a phone at Net10, you'll need to fill in your personal details such as your name, a home phone number and a password. Click "Submit" and select the model of your phone.
Click "Submit," and it will bring you to the screen where you can enter the IMEI and SIM numbers that you wrote down. Click on "Activate" and you are done. You should be able to make calls now.
