How to Print Double Sided on a Brother MFC 495CW

by Baptist JohnsonUpdated September 26, 2017

The Brother 495CW is an all-in-one wireless printer. Though it offers several features, it is not equipped to automatically print double-sided pages. To print double-sided on the Brother MFC 495CW, you must manually set up your printer. Though this may seem like a daunting task, it is quite simple. However, you do need to pay close attention to detail or you can ruin your printing job.

Click print to start your printing task. When the print settings window opens, set your printer to print only odd pages, starting with the first page. Click “OK” to begin the printing process.

Wait for your printer to finish printing all of the odd pages. Notice whether your printer prints pages face up or face down. The Brother MFC 495CW should print pages face up.

Place the odd numbered printed pages back into your printer’s supply tray. Load the one-sided printed pages into the printer’s supply tray so that the blank side is facing downward. The top edge of the printed pages should be oriented closest to the back of the printer. Furthermore, you want to make sure that the pages are ordered numerically with the first page at the top of the stack.

Press "Print." When your printing settings window opens, set your printer to print only even pages, starting with the second page. Click “OK” to begin the printing process.
