How to Change Your IP Locationby Matt McGewUpdated September 26, 2017
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique number that is used to identify a computer on a network or that is connected to the Internet. Your IP address is location based and the administrator of a network can normally tell your computer's location by its IP address. It is possible to change your computer's IP address and corresponding location by using an anonymous proxy service, which allows you to connect to the Internet through another server. Since you are actually connecting to the Internet using the other server, the network administrator can only see information about the proxy server's IP address and location.
Subscribe to an anonymous proxy server service. Examples of anonymous proxy server services are Hide My Ass, Proxy Key and Xroxy.
Download and install the software for the anonymous proxy server service on your computer. After subscribing to the service, you will normally receive an email with a link to download the software.
Open the anonymous proxy server software on your computer.
Enter your username and password to log on to the anonymous proxy server service. Normally, you will create the user name and password during the registration process.
Select the location of the server you want to use. This is the server IP address and location that a network administrator will see when you visit a website.
Open a Web browser on your computer and surf the Web as normal. When visiting a website, the network administrator will only see your anonymous proxy server's IP address and location.
