If you send faxes frequently, it can be a wise decision to invest in your own machine and fax line instead of paying others to send faxes for you. If you are an individual who faxes infrequently, spending money on a fax line is wasteful. There are many cheap ways you can send a fax. Depending upon your location, you may be able to fax for free.
Visit the business center in your residential community. Many upscale communities offer free fax services in the business center as a courtesy to community residents. Free faxing capabilities will vary by community.
Go to your local library to send a fax. Depending upon the library, you will be charged around $1 to $3 per page. Some libraries may even allow you to send a few pages for free.
Send a fax through your local employment office if you are faxing a job application or resume. Local employment offices often provide this service.
Send your fax from a hotel business center, if you are staying at a hotel. Some hotels provide free fax services as a courtesy to hotel guests.
Visit a local office supply store, such as FedEx Kinkos. You can expect to pay around $1 to $2 per page.
