Royal Alpha 9170 Cash Register Instructionsby Sam GroverUpdated September 26, 2017
The Royal Alpha 9170 cash register is not particularly difficult to use on a day-to-day basis. Indeed, it is designed with simplicity in mind. It can be pre-programmed with sales tax information and item information, so users just need to press the associated keys rather than calculate the price of things every time. This makes user error less likely.
Input the value of the item in question. Do not put decimal places. So, $5 would be keyed in as 500, $1 would be keyed in as 100, and $2.56 would be keyed in as 256.
Press the Royal Alpha 9170's #ST/NS button to get a subtotal that does not include tax.
Press the "subtotal w/tax" button to add tax to the total.
Press the "amount tend/total" button on the Royal Alpha 9170 if the customer paid in exact change.
Key in the amount the customer gave you, if he gave you more than the amount of the sale.
Press Royal Alpha 9170's "amount tend w/total" to finish the transaction and calculate how much change the customer needs.
