If you need to send and receive a fax yet do not have a fax machine, there are retail services available for you to use, including UPS. The UPS Store offers a variety of services, including shipping, packaging, printing, postal services, money transfers and notary services as well as faxing. UPS opened its first UPS Store as a franchise in 1980 and then expanded its mail-services business by buying Mail Boxes Etc., Inc., in 2001. As of 2010, there are more than 4,800 UPS Stores and Mail Boxes Etc. locations operating throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.

Go to The UPS Store website and find the store nearest to you using the “Store Locator” function. If you do not have access to the Internet, look up the closest UPS Store in the telephone directory.

Call The UPS Store to confirm that the location offers faxing services. Inquire about the cost per page to receive a fax.

Request a fax number from The UPS Store that you wish to have your fax sent to. Ask the sales representative to confirm the fax number after relaying it to you the first time.

Relay The UPS Store fax number to the person or business sending you the fax pages.

Go to The UPS Store to pick up your fax. At the time of pickup, you will be required to pay a nominal fee per page for faxing services. As of 2010, the price was in the range of $1.00 to $2.00 per page, although this does vary by location.

Call The UPS Store first to ensure they received all your faxed pages before you venture there to pick up the fax. Some UPS or Mail Boxes Etc. stores are closed on Sundays.
