How to Reset a Samsung Cash Register
By James Clark
Updated September 26, 2017
A Samsung electronic cash register can be manually reset if the machine ever locks up. Rather than clear all the data in your cash register, which could require a lot of your valuable time to reprogram with tax settings, product stock numbers and pricing, a clear reset may get your register working again.
Disconnect the cash register from the power source. The register must be unplugged at least 10 minutes for a clear reset.
Insert the operator's key in the lock on the control panel and turn the key to the "P" setting.
Press and hold the "Subtotal" key.
Reconnect the power while continuing to press the "Subtotal" key.
Turn the key to the "REG" setting and wait for the register to print a receipt tape.
