How to Clear the Memory of an HP 50G?
By Diana Braun
Updated September 26, 2017
The HP 50G is a graphing calculator used by professionals and students for surveying, math, science and engineering. The calculator features 2.5MB of total memory with 512KB RAM and 2MB flash ROM for future upgrades. As more and more calculations are performed, the memory gets used up, causing the device to possibly freeze, with the result that the memory must be cleared to properly function.
Turn the HP 50G calculator on.
Press the keys “On,” “F1,” and “F6” simultaneously.
Release all of the keys starting with the “F6” key and then follow quickly with the “On” and “F1” keys. The TTRM (Try to Recover Memory) Screen will then appear. The memory will clear and reset.
