How to See Your House From a Satellite for Freeby Angela M. WheelandUpdated September 28, 2017
Satellite imagery provides images of Earth from space. Google Earth, a virtual globe program, allows users to search for addresses and view houses, streets and landmarks. How closely you can zoom in depends on the area.
Go to the Google Earth website (see Resources).
Click “Download Google Earth.” Remove the checks from “Make Google Chrome my default browser” and “Include Google Chrome.” This prevents Google Chrome from installing on your computer and changing your browsing settings.
Click “I Agree and Download” to agree to the Terms of Service.
Click “Save” and choose a location to save the file. If the download dialog box does not show on your screen, a download bar will appear on the top of your screen. Right-click the download bar and select “Download File.”
Click “Run” when your download completes. Select “Run” again to install Google Earth.
Type your address, city and state into the search field. Google Earth zooms to the location of your home.
Double-click the map to zoom in and view your home.
