How to Find Someone's Mugshot

by Quinn QuarantineUpdated September 28, 2017

Whether for fun, curiosity or legal purposes, searching for a mugshot is much easier than you may think. It does not take a lot of effort or time to search online for a picture of a person who is currently incarcerated, has been incarcerated or is currently on parole.

Select a search engine. Type in "(state the offender is in) Department of Corrections"

For example: Florida Department of Corrections

Click on the first link, as it should be the correct one for the homepage of the DOC (Department of Corrections).

Look on the top or left-hand side of the web page for a link that says "Offender Search" or "Inmate Search" (each site's word usage may vary).

Click any other links you need to to access the search page (the site may give you such choices as to search all offenders or offenders only on parole and require you to click the link to move to the search page).

Input as much information as you have about the person, in the search boxes, and press submit.

Choose the correct result that you are looking for, and the person's information and picture will appear.

Not all sites are exactly the same, and the links may be placed differently or use different wording from that described.
