How to Sort BlackBerry Messages by Date
By Daniel Hatter
BlackBerry smartphones have many configurable message settings, but only two settings that change the order in which they are displayed. Text messages are always sorted by date in descending order, but email messages can be sorted either by date or by subject. For business use, it is almost always more convenient for the messages to be sorted by date. If the current setting on your business BlackBerry isn't to sort email messages by date, go into your BlackBerry message settings and change the email sorting setting.
Turn on your BlackBerry and click on the program icon labeled "Messages" on the Home screen.
Press the BlackBerry key to open the message settings and then select the "Display Style" option.
Click the "Single Messages" option to sort your messages by date and then press the "Back" button to return to your Messages. The messages currently in your mailbox will be sorted by date automatically.
The "Group by Subject" option in the Display Style menu groups your messages alphabetically by subject names. The "Single Messages" option disregards the message subjects and sorts only by message arrival date.
