How to Open Up an iPod Shuffle Folder
By Andrew Tennyson
If your company has an iPod Shuffle portable media player, you are more than likely used to transferring files on to and off of the device using iTunes. Although iTunes has a variety of handy file transfer features, it does not give you access to individual folders on your iPod. To open folders on your iPod Shuffle, you first need to turn on Disk Mode in iTunes. Once Disk Mode is active, you can open, browse and manage your iPod’s folders using Windows Explorer.
Connect your iPod Shuffle to your computer using the USB cable that came with the device. Launch the iTunes application on your computer if it does not launch automatically.
Select your iPod under the Devices heading in iTunes.
Click the “Summary” tab in the main iTunes window.
Click the “Enable Disk Use” check box, click the “Apply” button and then close iTunes.
Click the Windows “Start” button and click “Computer" to open Windows Explorer.
Double-click your iPod Shuffle on the list of available external drives and devices.
Double-click the folder you want to open.
