How to Unlock a Toshiba Portege Laptop
By Thomas McNish
Laptops are essential for business people on the go. However, to properly use your laptop's full potential, you must first know its basic operating functions. Each laptop has its own unique features, and the Toshiba Portege is no exception. One of its more interesting features is the lock button, which prevents the computer from turning on or off when it's activated. The lock button isn't marked with an obvious symbol, such as a padlock, so it may not be obvious at first glance, but once located, it's simple to operate.
Open the laptop lid by pulling up on the top half of the laptop and pushing it back. There is no lock keeping the lid connected to the rest of the computer.
Locate the power button in the bottom left-hand corner of the display panel. Right next to the power button is the lock button. It's a small, round switch.
Slide the small, round lock button to the right to unlock the Toshiba Portege laptop. Press and hold the "Power" button for about 3 seconds until the laptop powers on.
