How to Install Microsoft Encarta From a USB

by Kirk Bennet

When you run a business, you have to use all available resources to expand your expertise and grow your business. From 1993 to 2009, Microsoft published Encarta, a digital multimedia encyclopedia. If you have Encarta on a USB drive, you can easily install it on your business computers.

Plug the USB drive into a free USB port on your computer; Windows 7 assigns a drive to it.

Click the Start button and select "Computer" from the menu to open the native file manager.

Select the drive assigned by Windows to your USB drive to view the contents of the drive in the right pane.

Double-click the "Setup.exe" file to launch the installer.

Select the "Copy to Hard Drive" option to install everything on your hard drive and click "Next."

Follow the instructions on your screen to install Encarta on your computer.
