Setting Up Mac Mail on an iPad

by Travis Meyer

The iPad’s preferences menu allows you to add new email accounts to the Mail app with an automated configuration manager. Mac Mail accounts are supported by Apple’s MobileMe network, which allows you to sync your personal data between your iOS devices and your Mac. MobileMe accounts are included in the Mail app’s automated configuration manager, so the only information you need to complete the setup is the Apple ID associated with your Mac Mail account.

Tap the Settings app icon on the home screen.

Tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” in the left side bar of the Settings menu.

Tap “Add Account” and tap “MobileMe.”

Type the Apple ID and password associated with your Mac Mail account in the corresponding text fields and tap “Enter.”

Tap the toggle switch next to “Mail” to activate your Mac Mail account on your iPad and tap “Done.”
