How to Create a Hyperlink That Opens in a New Window in Adobe InDesign
By Michelle Carvo
Adobe InDesign is a publishing program that enables users to create images and other digital publishing related items. Adding hyperlinks to your images is a good idea if you intend them to be used online. This way, when users click a hyperlink in an image, they are taken to a new Web page related to the image. Creating hyperlinks merely requires selecting the text and clicking the appropriate buttons.
Launch the InDesign program.
Click “File” and “Open” to open the file you want to add the hyperlink to.
Select the text you want to create a hyperlink from by holding down the left mouse button.
Type in the address for the hyperlink in the “URL” box within the “Hyperlink” toolbar on the left side of the screen.
Click the drop-down box next to “Opens in” and select “New Window.”
Click “File” and “Save” to complete the process. Repeat as necessary to add additional hyperlinks.
