How Can I See a List of Friends Awaiting Confirmation on Facebook?

By Amy McClain

Keep a tab on who you've sent Facebook friend requests to who hasn't accept yet, and on friend requests you've received but are waiting to confirm. Until a request is accepted, it shows up as "pending" or "awaiting confirmation." View a list of incoming requests awaiting your approval on the Requests page. Alternatively, Facebook doesn't offer a function to see all the requests you've sent, but you can review them individually.

Requests Awaiting Confirmation

Open your Web browser and navigate to facebook.com. Enter your email address and password, then click "Log In."

Click the "Friend" icon located in the upper left corner of the page next to the Facebook logo. The icon looks like a silhouette of two people. A list of friend requests awaiting your confirmation appears beneath the icon.

Click "Confirm" to approve a request or "Not Now" to hide the request. Alternatively, you can ignore the request and address it at a later time.

Check Sent Requests

Open your Web browser and navigate to facebook.com. Enter your email address and password, then click "Log In."

Begin typing the person's name you sent the friend request to in the "Search" box at the top of the page. Matching users will display as you type.

Click the name of the user to display that user's profile page. You will see the text "Friend Request Sent" if you sent a request that is awaiting approval. If that text is not there, the user has either accepted or rejected your friend request.

Click "Friends" on your Facebook home page to view your list of friends if the ""Friend Request Sent" message is not displayed on the user's Facebook page you sent a friend request to but are still uncertain whether that user has accepted or rejected your friend request.

Scroll through your list of friends. If that person does not appear, he did not accept your friend request. Alternatively, if that person does appear in your list of friends, he did accept your friend request.
