How to Minimize Comments on Facebook
By John Mitchell
Not all comments on Facebook can be minimized. Comments on Facebook pages that you manage and administer are the only ones that you can minimize upon page load. If a visitor or fan wants to expand the comments, he would click the "View Comment" or "View All Comments" link below the posted stories. Immediately, the page below expands, revealing more comments. This feature is useful on Facebook pages that get a lot of user interaction, keeping the comments initially hidden.
Go to facebook.com, sign in to your account and click the "Account" menu at the top of the home page. From the drop-down menu, click the "Use Facebook as Page" option, then click the "Switch" button on the resulting pop-up box for the page you wish to manage.
Click the "Edit Page" button near the upper right side of your page. On the next screen, click the "Manage Permissions" tab on the left column.
Go to the "Wall Tab Shows" setting a few options down from the top of the screen. Uncheck the "Expand Comments on Stories" box so it is no longer selected.
Click the "Save Changes" button to activate the minimized comments on your Facebook page. The setting takes effect immediately and users now have to click the appropriate link below the posted story to read the comments.
