How to Block People From Saving Your Pictures on Tumblr
By Andy Walton
Preventing people from saving the images on your Tumblr blog can help you to protect your photos or other graphical content. Ordinarily, a visitor to your Tumblr blog could copy any of the images on your page by right-clicking on the image and selecting “Save.” This practice makes it relatively easy for people to pass images that you created off as their own. However, you can prevent others from saving your image by disabling the right-click function on your blog altogether.
Sign in to the Tumblr website.
Click “Customize” to open up the Customize panel. Select “Edit HTML” to access the raw HTML code that powers your Tumblr theme.
Press “Ctrl-F” to open the Find panel, and type “<body” (without quotes) into the box. Press "Enter" to locate your theme's body tag.
Type a space after the word “body” but before the tag's closing bracket and then enter the text 'oncontextmenu="return false"' (without the single quotes but including the double quotes). This operator tells the page not to display the context menu that usually appears when you right-click on a webpage.
Click the “Update Preview” button and then click “Save.”
Warnings
Although the above code stops users from saving your images directly, visitors to your site may still be able to copy your images using screenshots.
