How to View Instagram Mentions
By Andrea Ruiz
When a public Instagram user mentions your username preceded by an "@," the site automatically tags your account as a mention. In this way, users replying to your comments on their photos can let you know that they've responded, and other users can alert you to content they want you to see. To view your mentions on Instagram, visit the News feed feature of your app.
Launch Instagram on your phone and, if prompted, sign in to your Instagram account.
Tap the News icon in the main menu of the app. This icon has a graphic of a speech bubble with a heart silhouette in the center.
Tap the "You" tab to view all of your recent mentions interspersed with the most recent likes and comments on your photos.
Tips
You can also view any photos you're tagged in by tapping the "Profile" icon in the main menu, and then tapping the icon of the rectangle with a human silhouette. This displays the "Photos of You" screen in your app.
Warnings
Instagram displays only the latest 100 notifications in your News feed, including all of your mentions, likes and comments.
If a user has an account set to private and mentions you in a photo, you won't be able to see the mention unless the user has approved you as a follower.
