How to Put Your SCM Playlist on Your Tumblr Blog
By Danielle Fernandez
Your custom playlist can add personality to your Tumblr blog, and there are a number of music players you can use to build one. Some of these services feature a music library from which you choose your tracks while others require you to use your own uploaded MP3 music files. With the SCM Player, however, you can organize your playlist from any Web source as long as you have the URL linked to the appropriate MP3 file. Once yours is configured, use your Tumblr Dashboard to embed it within the HTML of your blog.
Create an account at SCM and follow the on-screen prompts to enter the links to songs you wish to use. When you've finished building your playlist, click "Done" to obtain the HTML code you will use on your blog.
Log in to your Tumblr account and click "Customize."
Select "Theme" and click "Custom HTML."
Determine where on your page you would like to add the HTML and paste the coding for your playlist that was copied from the SCM site. If you wish to post it in the header of your blog, for example, paste the code directly above the "</head>" tag. Do not hesitate to enter a few hard returns -- press the "Enter" key a few times -- to add some space to your work area, as these spaces won't be visible to your users.
Click "Update Preview" to preview the changes to your blog. Edit if necessary. When you are satisfied, click "Save" and then "Close."
