Is Dailymotion Safe?
By Nick Peers
If you don't run a security solution on your computer, you must be careful when navigating on the Internet. Some websites can be dangerous even when you are using an antivirus. Even if the website itself is clean and doesn't pose a threat, it may display ads from external sources. In some cases, ads can contain malicious code that can harm your computer. Note that ads can open in new Web browser windows without your approval.
Dailymotion is a video-sharing website similar to YouTube. It is safe to view videos on Dailymotion because they are streamed over the Internet. You don't need to download anything from the website.
Dailymotion displays advertisements from third parties on its Web pages; ads may sometimes contain malicious code. Note that many websites, including Facebook, also deliver ads from third-parties.
If you created an account on Dailymotion, your personal information may be at risk. Dailymotion will not disclose your information to third-parties, but any website can be hacked. If an attacker is able to break into the Dailymotion servers, he can steal your personal information.
