Many social media platforms recognize that cross-posting content across many social media sites can be time-consuming and repetitive, and they attempt to expedite the process with content-sharing features. To facilitate sharing content, the social network and blogging platform Tumblr enables you to automatically embed all of your Tumblr posts to your Facebook Timeline. However, if you'd like to embed your Tumblr posts in your Vimeo videos, you must enter your Tumblr details manually in the Vimeo upload form.

Connecting Tumblr to Facebook

Log in to your Tumblr account, and then click the gear icon on your dashboard to navigate to your settings page.

Select the blog whose posts you want to embed on your Facebook Timeline.

Click the "Sign In With Facebook" button in the main panel. Then, follow the onscreen instructions in the pop-up window to authorize Tumblr to post to your Facebook account.

Select from the drop-down menu the Facebook page or profile into which you wish to embed your Tumblr posts. You can also select whether to share your Tumblr likes and replies on your Facebook Timeline.

Check the "Share Posts on Your Timeline" box to automatically share all of your posts on your Facebook Timeline. If you want to select which of your Tumblr posts appear on your Timeline, leave this box unchecked and select the option to cross-post to Facebook for individual posts.

Click the "Save" button to save your changes.

Linking Tumblr to Vimeo

Log in to your Vimeo account and click the "Upload a Video" button.

Click "Choose a Video" and double-click the video file on your hard drive that you embedded to Tumblr. The video immediately begins to upload to your Vimeo video gallery.

Add a detailed description to your video. Vimeo doesn't allow you to use HTML code, but you can insert links to your Tumblr blog or original Tumblr post in the description. When you publish the video to your Vimeo gallery, the site converts the URLs to embedded hyperlinks.

Add a title, tags and credits to your video, if desired, and then click the "Save Changes" button to add your information to your video's page.

You can also connect your Vimeo account to automatically embed any videos you upload to Vimeo to your Tumblr and Facebook accounts. Hover your cursor over the "Me" tab in the main menu and select "My Settings" from the fold-out menu that appears. Click the "Apps" tab, click the "Connect" buttons next to Tumblr and Facebook, and then follow the onscreen instructions to authorize Vimeo to post to your accounts.

Vimeo allows basic users to upload only 500MB of video per week. If your video has a larger file size, you must upgrade to one of the premium account types.
