How to Embed Two Videos in Tumblr

By Naomi Bolton

Tumblr includes a dedicated video post option via which you can share clips by pasting the embed code or video URL. When you insert the embed code, a thumbnail of the video is automatically displayed, which means you cannot add a second embed code. As a workaround, you can use the HTML editor in the description section of the video post. Pasting a video embed code in the description section makes it possible to embed two videos in one post.

Sign in to your Tumblr account and click the "Video" button.

Open the video sharing site with the first video that you want to embed in a new tab and click the "Share" or "Export" button depending on the site.

Highlight the embed code that is generated by the site and press "Ctrl-C" to copy the code to the clipboard.

Click the Tumblr video post "Embed Code" input box and press "Ctrl-V" to paste in the embed code of the first video. The video thumbnail is displayed and the embed code input box is removed.

Open the video sharing site with the second video that you want to embed in a new tab and click the "Share" or "Export" button depending on the site.

Highlight the embed code that is generated and press "Ctrl-C" to copy the code to the clipboard.

Click the "<html>" link on the formatting bar below the first video thumbnail in the Tumblr video post.

Click the description input box below the formatting bar and press "Ctrl-V" to paste in the embed code of the second video.

Click the "Post" button to embed both videos in one post.

Tips

You can still add descriptions for both videos by enclosing your description text in the "<p>" and "</p>" paragraph texts above or below the second embedded video. For example, to add a description for both videos between the two videos the code would be as follow;

<p>This is the caption for the video above</p> <p>This is the caption for the video below</p>
