Cheats to Get All Johto Starters From "Emerald"
By Alexander Poirier
Updated September 22, 2017
After completing the entire Hoenn Pokedex on the game "Pokemon Emerald," players are given the choice between one of the three Johto starter Pokemon: Totodile, Cyndaquil or Chikorita. Players may only choose one of the three Pokemon, and there is no way to obtain all three Johto starting Pokemon without the use of a GameShark or Action Replay cheat device. With one of these cheat devices, however, you can find these Pokemon in the wild and catch them like any other wild Pokemon.
Adding a New Code
To add a new code to your GameShark or Action Replay, insert the cheat device into your Game Boy Advance's game slot and insert the "Pokemon Emerald" game cartridge into the game slot on the cheat device. Turn the Game Boy Advance on and the cheat device will automatically detect the "Pokemon Emerald" game cartridge. Scroll down to the "Add New Cheat" option and press the "B" button. Enter a name for the cheat in the space provided and press the "Start" button to confirm the name. Then enter the cheat code for the starter Pokemon in the space provided and press the "Start" button to confirm the code.
Totodile
Enter the following code on the "Edit Code" screen: BA157150 E9CE0D76. When you play "Pokemon Emerald" with this code activated, you will run into the Johto starter Pokemon Totodile randomly while walking through the tall grass. Battle Totodile and catch it with a Poke Ball just as you would any other wild Pokemon to gain its Pokedex entry.
Cyndaquil
Enter the following code on the "Edit Code" screen: CD3D995B 40231BAD. When you play "Pokemon Emerald" with this code activated, you will run into the Johto starter Pokemon Cyndaquil randomly while walking through the tall grass. Battle Cyndaquil and catch it with a Poke Ball just as you would any other wild Pokemon to gain its Pokedex entry.
Chikorita
Enter the following code on the "Edit Code" screen: 02F783F6 2979B272. When you play "Pokemon Emerald" with this code activated, you will run into the Johto starter Pokemon Chikorita randomly while walking through the tall grass. Battle Chikorita and catch it with a Poke Ball just as you would any other wild Pokemon to gain its Pokedex entry.
