How to Change the Wii Remote Plus From Left to Right Hand
By Matthew Tom
Updated September 22, 2017
The Wii Remote Plus combines the original Wii controller with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which had to be manually connected to the original Wii controller. The Wii Remote Plus, along with the original controller, can be used by left- or right-handed players without modifications. For certain Wii games, however, such as "EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis" or "Wii Sports Resort," it is important to specify whether you are holding the controller in your left or right hand.
Insert the game disc into the Wii.
Use the Wii Remote Plus to select the game on the main menu.
Wait for the game to start. For games that allow you to select left or right hand, select the appropriate option. You can go back to the game's main menu to switch hands. For games where you use a Mii character, go to the Mii selection screen and reselect your Mii. You will be asked whether you are left- or right-handed.
Warnings
Always secure the strap on the end of the Wii controller to prevent it from slipping out of your hand.
