Adding favorite contacts to your iPhone gives you the ability to quickly call the people most important in your life without thumbing through all of your contacts. Whenever you add a contact to your Favorites list, they become available directly in the iPhone's Phone app. If you have a lot of people listed in your Phone app's Favorite list, taking a few minutes to alphabetize them will make them easier to find when you have to make a quick call.

Tap the “Phone” icon on the iPhone home screen.

Tap the “Favorites” icon.

Tap the “Edit” button. You’ll see a three-bar “Index” icon appear to the right of each contact’s name.

Press and hold each contact’s “Index” icon to drag it up or down the list until you’ve reordered all of your favorites alphabetically.

Tap “Done” to save your new, alphabetized arrangement.

Tips

To delete a name from the Favorites list, tap “Edit” followed by the red “Delete” icon that appears to the left of a contact’s name. Then tap the “Delete” button that appears to the right.

Newly added contacts are automatically added to the end of your Favorites list. To maintain your alphabetical arrangement, develop the habit of dragging new favorites to their rightful place on the list as you add them.
