The most powerful and primal form of the befouled metal spawned by the elder god Yogg-Saron, Primordial Saronite is used to purchase and craft epic-level gear in the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion for "World of Warcraft." This metal is also necessary as part of the quest to forge the legendary weapon, Shadowmourne. Primordial Saronite is mostly obtained through the bosses in Icecrown Citadel, but you can also purchase it in a few places.

Icecrown Citadel Heroic Bosses

Every boss in the heroic versions of the Icecrown Citadel raid has a chance to drop one or more pieces of Primordial Saronite. The 25-player version of the raid increases the chance to obtain Primordial Saronite, as each boss drops more items than they would in the 10-player version. At level 100, even the 25-player heroic version is fairly easy to complete by yourself, making farming a much easier task than in earlier expansions.

Vendors and the Auction House

You can also buy Primordial Saronite from a few vendors in the game. Arcanist Uovril and Magister Arlan in Dalaran sell Primordial Saronite to Alliance and Horde players, while Goodman the "Closer" sells it to players of both factions in Icecrown Citadel. Regardless of where you purchase it, the Primordial Saronite costs 150 gold per piece. Primordial Saronite is also not soulbound, meaning you can buy it off the auction house from other players though the cost will vary.
