Ashenvale lies in the heart of Kalimdor, Azeroth's western continent in "World of Warcraft." As of the Cataclysm expansion pack, the war between the night elves and the orcs engulfs the entire zone, with the orcs laying siege to the night elf town of Astranaar. Roadways in the zone lead to both Darnassus, the night elf capital, and Orgrimmar, the orc capital. These direct routes make travel to Ashenvale easy.

From Darnassus

Teleport to the Rut'Theran Village using the teleporter on the west side of Darnassus.

Take a hippogryph flight to Lor'Danel in Darkshore. The flight path from Rut'Theran Village to Lor'Danel is free as of the Cataclysm expansion.

Travel south on the main road.

Take either fork in the road at the Master's Glaive. Both lead to Ashenvale.

From Orgrimmar

Exit Orgrimmar via the rear gate.

Go left at the fork in the road.

Continue westward across the Southfury River to reach Ashenvale.
