How to Become a Beta Tester for Sony
By Katrina Matterhorn
Updated September 22, 2017
Sony PlayStation beta testers are hired to test unreleased games, software and hardware for glitches, as well as for the user experience. Hiring can happen in rounds when Sony is getting ready to add a new game or console to its line. The pay scale for a beta tester can depend on the project or the person's experience. Some people will do it for free. There are no benefits and work is not always guaranteed. However, if you have time and enjoy video games, this could be a good project for you.
Open your Web browser and navigate to Sony's PlayStation Network (us.PlayStation.com/psn/signup). Sign up and enter your contact information.
Visit the PlayStation Network forums and participate in discussions on beta testing. Beta testing projects are occasionally posted in these forums.
Search job sites for Sony beta tester ads. Submit your qualifications and be available when the company or the contractor hired to test the game or hardware needs you. The hours and days can be random so, if you want to be a beta tester, you need to have a flexible schedule.
