How to Catch Snorlax in "Pokemon Yellow"

Like all "Pokemon" games, the "Pokemon Yellow" version contains missions you must complete and obstacles that you must overcome in order to reach the ultimate goal: becoming a Pokemon champion. One of the obstacles blocking your route between Celadon City and Vermillion City is a sleeping Snorlax. By completing the mission to save Mr. Fuji, you can obtain the Poke Flute to wake up Snorlax and capture him.

Fly to Lavender Town and walk towards the large Lavender Town tower on the right of the Pokemon Center and to the north of the PokeMart. Enter the tower.

Battle and defeat Gary on the second floor and defeat the remaining Pokemon trainers within the Lavender City tower. On the seventh floor, which is also the top floor, you will see a group of Team Rocket minions guarding Mr. Fuji.

Fight and defeat Team Rocket to rescue Mr. Fuji from the tower. After Mr. Fuji talks with you, he will leave to go back to his house in Lavender Town.

Walk out of the tower and go to Mr. Fuji's house. Speak with him and he will give you a Poke Flute as a token of his appreciation.

Walk south of Lavender Town until you reach a Snorlax blocking the road. Play the Poke Flute and wake up the Snorlax. Make sure your Pokemon health points are high enough to sustain battle with the level 30 Snorlax. You must also have strong PokeBalls, such as Great and Ultra Balls, in order to catch strong Pokemon.

Battle Snorlax and weaken him so he can be caught more easily. Since Snorlax is a normal-type Pokemon, using fighting-type Pokemon and moves will lower his health points enough for you to catch it.
