"Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3" is a fighting video game that is part of the "Dragon Ball" game series. Players take control of a variety of characters from the series and work through different scenarios. The characters have all the special moves that were featured during the anime. The Z-Counter is an ability all the characters share that allows them to quickly teleport behind their opponent for a counterattack. You have to get the timing down just right to avoid damage and surprise your enemy.
Begin a game of "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3."
Select the game mode in which you want to play.
Select your character and begin a fight with an opponent.
Press the "Up" and "Square" buttons simultaneously as your opponent attacks to start the Z-Counter. You must press these buttons at the same exact time and do so before the attack hits. If you do it too late, your character will be struck and take damage.
Attack as soon as your character reappears behind their opponent.
Tips
You can use the Z-Counter to avoid a variety of attacks in "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3." Use the Z-Counter to dodge ki blasts and some special attacks. However, be warned that the counter can not be used against ultimate attacks or throws.
Warnings
Using the Z-Counter to avoid ki blasts is an option, however, if you are far away from your opponent you will not reappear behind them. Instead, you will avoid the attack but reappear in the same location you started. This will become dangerous if your opponent fires multiple blasts in your direction.
