If you want to watch an episode of a TV show but you don’t have access to a television, or if you missed an episode and weren’t able to record it, you can watch TV episodes free on the Web. Many TV shows are available to watch using your Web browser, and you can access this programming by visiting your cable company’s website. Major networks also provide TV show and episode descriptions and recaps, allowing you to catch up on shows you have missed. To maximize your online viewing enjoyment, you will need a Web browser and a high-speed Internet connection.
Open a Web browser on your desktop or laptop computer.
Navigate to a TV network’s website. Major networks include ABC (abc.go.com), CBS (cbs.com) and NBC (nbc.com). Popular cable channels include Comedy Central (comedycentral.com) and the Public Broadcasting Service (pbs.org).
Look for and click a link such as “Shows” or “Video,” typically located on the navigation bar at the top of the TV network’s homepage. A list of TV shows will appear.
Click on a program name, then click the thumbnail of an episode to start playing it in your Web browser.
Go to a TV episode “aggregator” website such as Hulu (hulu.com), CastTV (casttv.com) or SideReel (sidereel.com). These websites provide links to a variety of TV shows that you can watch online free of charge.
