You can watch DVDs and play video games on your Vizio TV, but without an antenna, the TV will not show broadcast television programs. There are three types of antennas you can connect to your Vizio TV. If you have a digital TV and do not subscribe to cable or satellite service, all you need is an aerial antenna. If you do not have a digital TV and do not have cable or satellite service, you need a digital converter box. If you subscribe to cable or satellite service, the connection method is the same for digital and nondigital TVs.
Plug the antenna into the RF (Radio Frequency) port on the back of the TV labeled “Antenna In.” This step is for digital TVs.
Plug the antenna into the RF port on the back of the converter box labeled “Antenna In.” Plug a coaxial cable into the port on the converter box labeled “Antenna Out” and plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the RF port on the TV. Set TV to either channel 3 or 4.This is for nondigital TVs without cable or satellite connection.
Plug the cable wire that comes from the wall into the RF port on the back of the cable box labeled “Cable In." Plug a coaxial cable into the RF port on the cable box labeled “Cable Out" and plug the other end of the cable into the RF port on the TV. Switch TV to channel 3 or 4. This applies if you subscribe to cable or satellite service.
